A well-designed survey can serve as a powerful tool to capture client feedback and measure program outcomes. Although some aspects of survey design may seem like common sense, there are research-based practices that are effective in addressing issues related to low response rates, bias, survey fatigue and data quality. In this workshop, we will share information that will help you learn how to effectively plan and administer surveys, learn how to apply research-based best practices to design effective surveys and plan for data analysis during the survey design process to ensure valid, reliable and useful data.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Kyrah Brown has over 7 years of professional experience that includes research and evaluation in higher education, the nonprofit sector and the public health sector. She is experienced in research and evaluation design, qualitative and quantitative methods, tool development, data management and analysis, report writing, and grant writing. She is also published in peer reviewed and other professional journals; and has presented to national and international audiences. Dr. Brown holds leadership positions in the Society for Community Research and Action (Division 27 of the American Psychological Association), and is a member of the American Evaluation Association and the American Public Health Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College. She earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Community Psychology from Wichita State University.
