Helping Restore Ability is the largest non-profit provider of in-home care services in Texas. We’re also increasingly known for inter-industry partnerships that advance innovative research and excellence in the home care industry at large. Recent examples include providing input to Texas legislators on proposed legislation to ensure timely payment to home care providers; our internship program for local university students; and our input to a university-based team that’s developing robotic prosthetics. Great non-profits need great Development staff, and that’s where you come in! As a key member of a small team, you’ll use your proven marketing skills to promote the agency’s brand through hardcopy mass mailings, email, social media, and in person at awareness and fundraising events. You’ll report to and work closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to create marketing materials and produce stellar fundraising events. You’ll support the CDO in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities that will fund our operating expenses and allow us to expand. Your communications and interpersonal skills will be crucial in expanding existing donor relationships, and following up on new relationships resulting from awareness events. You’ll be responsible for certain administrative tasks, including donor database management, recordkeeping, and producing reports. And as a team player in an environment where every person’s efforts impact the entire office, you’ll support agency operations by opening and distributing the daily mail. Education: Strongly prefer Bachelor’s Degree.


Experience: One year experience in events planning position, or concentrated internship resulting in similar event planning and successful execution experience.


References: At least two (2) verifiable references.


Skills: Knowledge of key elements of event planning. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of graphic design tools (such as Adobe Illustrated, desktop publishing, or other tool) in support of development of brochures, annual reports would be a plus. Knowledge of Constant Contact. Ability to mail merge donor name lists for mass mailing purposes and to produce donor letters and envelopes, as well as ability to use postage meter for mailings. Some public speaking experience required. Demonstrate good decision making and communication skills. Read, write, and comprehend English proficiently.


Other: Must be at least 18 years old. Must have reliable transportation, proof of auto liability coverage, and valid Driver License. Must pass drug test and criminal background checks of agency licensed by Texas HHSC (Health and Human Services Commission).
