Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree and one to two years of experience in development.
Experience working for an academic medical center or health-related organization, familiarity with grant processes, and writing experience preferred.
Assists in planning, writing, and packaging grant proposals and budgets to foundations and to other funding sources, as needed.
Helps with preparation and submission of proposals in accordance with funder's policies, legal requirements, and deadlines.
Contributes to developing resources, evaluating funding sources, and have knowledge of
standard concepts and procedures for activities related to grant proposals. Ensures compliance with organizational standards.
Continually improves and streamlines internal grants processes, as needed. Disseminates grant preparation and funding process improvements to internal team and department clients.
Participates in update meetings to discuss funding strategies and efforts.
Tracks and provides updates on gifts generated by the Foundation Giving Program. Maintains grant funding databases and provides analyses of grant approvals, monies received, and growth of foundation giving program on a monthly basis to Director and VP of Development, and to Development Department and other constituents as needed. Tracks and evaluates funding efforts according to research and clinical departments.
Supports the tracking, writing, and submission of donor progress reports. Maintains the Donor Report Log, including adding new entries when gifts are received and monitors the process for requesting and sending progress reports to donors. Ensures that all reporting expectations and deadlines set by donors are met. Works with Post Awards to gather the necessary financial reporting data.
Supports development communication efforts, including, but not limited to, writing donor
stories for various publications, developing and maintaining website contents, and creating e-newsletters.
Performs other duties as assigned.
