Mission Central became an independent 501(c)(3) organization in 2003, with a mission to empower people in need to improve their own quality of life. Programming helps people meet their immediate needs like food and clothing (Village Food Pantry, Mobile Food Pantry and Coat of Many Colors Resale Store), and through longer term services to help them build a better future (Community Resource Center, STEPS, Opportunities Program, Village Library and after-school tutoring). Mission Central gives people the tools they need to secure long-term stability for their family. The annual operating budget is $1.55M (59% in-kind donations). There are eight paid staff and a very active volunteer base. Mission Central is poised to continue its growth with this exciting opportunity for new leadership.
Mission Central is seeking a motivated leader and strategic thinker who can support Mission Central’s organizational growth. The candidate will have demonstrated experience in strategic management; be an experienced leader able to develop and communicate a vision of the future, set priorities and produce measurable long-term results; have demonstrated ability to head successful fundraising efforts and cultivate relationships with donors, community leaders, and foundations; be an exceptional communicator, motivator and leader of staff and volunteers; be able to build strategic alliances with other nonprofits and community organizations; have experience in business planning, developing and operating budgets and managing nonprofit finances; possess critical problem solving and entrepreneurial skills.
