REPORTS TO:  Executive Director

STATUS:  Exempt

HOURS: Flexible schedule and will require several evenings a week & and only an occasional weekend

The Program Director in concurrence of the Executive Director develops and administers all aspects of Incarnation House’s programs.  This includes planning, organizing, program delivery, quality control and evaluation.  The position works closely Case Manager, Manager of Volunteer/Partner Services, and volunteers to coordinate services to our clients. Represents the organization at community events and conducts educational sessions, as well as give tours to interested individuals and provide accurate information regarding existing programs.


The Program Director performs a wide range of duties, including some or all the following:

  • Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program
  • Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement
  • In consultation with the Executive Director, recruit, interview and select well-qualified program staff
  • Ensure that all staff members receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the programs
  • Coordinate the delivery of services with other staff members to increase effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
  • Monitor the program activities regularly and conduct an annual evaluation according to the program evaluation framework
  • Create and Foster long-lasting relationships with North Dallas High School, DISD, and community members


  • Master’s degree in social work, youth ministry or a related field
  • Knowledge of program development and management
  • Knowledge of client groups and/or issues related to the program area
  • Three to five years working with at-risk youth
  • Strong project management skills managing multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
  • Three years of program development experience
  • Experience supervising staff and interns
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the public
  • Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for Incarnation House’s mission


The candidate needs to have strong relationship management skills working with diverse populations (volunteers, other nonprofits, staff, board members, community members, etc.); cultural sensitivity and people-skills like good listening and good communications (written and oral) are vital.

  • Demonstrate the ability to respond with a high degree of urgency to the needs & requests of others, internally and externally. Understand the impact of their work on others.
  • Conflict management skills
  • Maintain constructive relationships and demonstrate respect for everyone contacted. Especially the Principal and Social Worker at North Dallas High School, DISD personnel, IH Board members, and key partners in the community
  • Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a larger staff team
  • Ability to delegate when needed
