If you are passionate about working with and helping people who are living with, or who are at high risk for HIV to be healthy, Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX) has an excellent opportunity for you. PHNTX is seeking a behavioral intervention specialist II (BIS II) to provide services for a new program. The BIS II works with clients to help them achieve readiness to enter necessary behavioral health treatment for mental health and substance misuse disorders. The position is responsible for completing assessments and conducting individual and group therapy sessions. S/he also conducts community outreach to engage the population of focus and links those who test positive for HIV and/or Viral Hepatitis to medical care. The applicant must demonstrate a working knowledge of substance use disorder/co-occurring disorder treatment modalities, recovery, outreach strategies, and interventions for addressing high-risk behaviors. S/he must be able to conduct group therapy and psycho-education sessions. The position requires a master’s degree in social work or related field. Current state licensure as a social worker or professional counselor is preferred. Minimum of one year experience in chemical dependency treatment is required. The candidate will be required to use his/her own vehicle for transportation between PHNTX facilities and partner agencies. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
