The Center for Transforming Lives has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, high-capacity professional in the position of Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator.
The volunteer and community relations coordinator is an ambassador for the Center for Transforming Lives, and is responsible for building relationships with individuals, groups, corporations and other organizations to raise awareness of and community participation in the work of the organization. This position recruits, engages, schedules and track volunteers in all program areas, ensuring that both volunteers and participants have an enriching experience. In addition, the volunteer and community relations coordinator assists with marketing and communication efforts, represents the agency at speaking engagements and community networking events, and implements PR and social media campaigns. Preference will be given to candidates with volunteer coordination and/or public relations experience.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree; excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively articulate the organization’s mission, vision and key messaging; ability to build relationships with a variety of constituents; strong organization and project management skills; initiative, innovation and creative problem-solving skills; and be adaptable to growing, fast-paced, diverse, results-oriented culture. Knowledge of Windows operating system and Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required. Ability to learn and use any other software programs needed for operations, including but not limited to Blackbaud eTapestry and the Benevon model of sustainable fundraising.
