Overview
The Nonprofit Marketing Certificate program is a seven-part series designed to expand the capabilities of nonprofit professionals with
responsibility for marketing, PR, events, fund development, community outreach and other roles. Participants will interactively develop (or revise and improve) an integrated brand strategy-marketing-PR plan for their agency and gain professional development. Who Should Participate?
Nonprofit marketing, PR, events, fund development, community outreach and other professionals wanting to keep up with changes in the field and enrich their performance and careers through exposure to marketing best practices. Participants will: - Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to help achieve their nonprofit’s development, program, volunteer recruitment, and other goals
- Grasp how to conduct market research, position, brand and create marketing strategies
- Utilize social media, media relations, marketing communications, and events to help promote the nonprofit
- Develop communication programs that engage donors, volunteers and other stakeholders and that inspire volunteers and agency staff to become ambassadors for the mission
- Structure marketing in the agency and to assess the need for external assistance and how to wisely select service providers
- Explore how nonprofit and for-profit marketing norms compare and contrast
- Develop and sell a marketing budget
- Determine the most effective measurement tools to evaluate and improve marketing efforts
Course Schedule: The content will be delivered in seven half-day sessions (9 am to 12 pm) twice a year (fall / spring).
