Position Status: Full- Time Exempt
This position is currently funded as a 1 year project with possibility of extensions.
Founded in 1920, Momentous Institute is committed to offering services that are systemic, trauma-informed, and include brain and strengths-based perspectives. Comprehensive therapeutic services annually offered to over 5,500 children and family members focus on building and repairing social emotional health so families can achieve their full potential. In addition, our urban innovation school in Oak Cliff serves children ages 3 through 5th grade. The Clinical Group Leader works with a team of licensed professionals in the Huddle Up Group Program, an experiential, multi-family, after school and summer program for pre-teens and teens (ages 10-14) and their families presenting with significant social and emotional health issues. He/she will provide group, family, and individual therapy services as well as case management. The Clinical Group Leader will be the point of contact to youth and families participating in Huddle-Up Program. This individual will participate in Huddle-Up facilitated community groups in Elementary and Middle Schools and at Community Centers.
Assist with intake screenings for potential clients referred to Huddle-Up program.
Provides group therapy to participants in Huddle Up programming in house and in the community.
Provides individual and/or family therapy to participants in Huddle-Up program as needed.
Provides casework to families participating in Huddle Up, including phone calls, parent contact, parent consults, referrals, and coordination of care.
Supports and helps create meaningful club member involvement in the Huddle-Up Program activities.
Performs other duties as assigned by management and supervisor.
Texas licensed therapist; or licensed eligible (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
A minimum of two years’ experience working with children and families
A minimum of two years’ experience working with groups
Strategic thinker that supports program development
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to receive feedback and open to self-reflection
Ability to work with clients and colleagues of diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Fluent in English and Spanish
