The Community Prevention Coordinator provides key administrative and program support for the Dallas Area Drug Prevention Partnership, a Council-sponsored prevention coalition. The Coordinator works with the coalition chair, vice-chair, workgroup chairs, and other coalition members to engage community champions, and expand representation of coalition partners. The Coordinator also works with our professional evaluator on data collection and evaluation activities including production of an annual needs assessment, completion of an annual drug impact index and outcome evaluation by way of surveys, focus groups, interviews and archival data collection. The Coordinator actively participates in planning and organizing coalition events such as community forums, professional training, and public awareness campaigns. Other activities include: conducting drug prevention presentations to schools, churches, civic groups and other community organizations; disseminating printed prevention information to youth, parents, teachers, counselors and other community members; making visits to DFW media market representatives to engage their support in educating the public; maintaining the coalition website; contributing to social media on behalf of the coalition; maintaining program records and administrative files; completing and submitting program reports as required.
Required: bachelor’s degree; computer and Internet skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point); experience making presentations and facilitating meetings; detail oriented with ability to plan, organize, set priorities and achieve objectives; personal vehicle with applicable Texas insurance for local travel. Preferred: experience in alcohol, tobacco, drug prevention and/or community health; experience in volunteer management.
