Mid to Senior-level development position.  Serves in leadership role with assigned volunteers and constituents.  The Development Manager will be the staff lead for JDRF OneWalk and Kids walk with revenue responsibilities $450,000+

This position supervises volunteers, and committees related to the JDRF One Walk and Kids Walk programs.  Leadership responsibility for managing, coordinating and leveraging the comprehensive development areas of the chapter.

  • Supports and maintains the vision, mission, priorities and guiding principles of JDRF.
  • Serves as point person for assigned JDRF OneWalk, and Kids Walk programs providing year-round, campaign-minded strategic and tactical planning and execution.
  • Serves as a co-owner of specific OneWalk financial development areas.
  • Works with staff leadership to formulate short and long term plans for event and market growth and sustainability.
  • Understands and works with all Walk and Signature Event online tools.
  • Identifies and builds revenue oriented relationships within the community, corporate and individual/family constituent groups.
  • Works closely with Outreach staff and volunteers to help build and strengthen pipelines.
  • Identify, recruit, cultivate and steward volunteer leadership committee members for Walk and other development opportunities.
  • Works with staff leadership in developing assigned event budgets and timelines.
  • Participates in staff and volunteer meetings representing objectives and needs for assigned duties.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Has a matrix (dotted line) reporting relationship with the Regional Managers and National Walk Managers.
  • Represents the best interests, professionalism and integrity of JDRF in all activities and relationships through a unified message of JDRF’s mission and a commitment to organizational standards and leadership by personal example.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements:

Five + (5+) years of fundraising or business experience.  CFRE a plus.  Knowledge of fundraising and non-event fundraising activities is a must.  Candidate must be a self-starter.  Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.  Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.  Excellent interpersonal skills.  Computer literate.
