Position Overview:
Reporting to the Adult Program Director, the Program Data Manager will be a strategic thought-partner with hands-on management of all areas of program data and outcomes, including collection, analysis and reporting for adults, children and volunteers. The Program Data Manager will also provide training and support for end users of the databases, and training and support for all program related technology applications.


  • In partnership with Executive Leadership Team, collaborate in identification of key outcome metrics, evaluation reports, and other documents related to program trends, evaluation, performance and tracking
  • Lead efforts to design, maintain, and enhance data collection and reporting across all program areas including adults, children and volunteers
  • Lead efforts to design, implement and support databases for all programs (currently MS Access)
  • Develop interfaces to facilitate data entry, data analysis and generation of reports across all program areas
  • Develop data cleaning methods to perform quality control on data collected across all programs
  • Prepare and present routine data summary and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide data and database-related training, technical assistance and user support to staff and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and support online surveys to assess program impact and track program outcomes
  • Develop and implement trainings, and provide ongoing support for staff and volunteers for all program-related technology applications including classroom and computer lab equipment, educational software programs, and online learning resources
  • Ensure teacher resources are routinely updated on organization’s website
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvement and best practices for all areas of program data management
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • Demonstrated commitment to mission and core values of changing lives through literacy
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience working in non-profit or educational setting
  • Strong experience with MS Access, database design concepts, and data quality control methods
  • Knowledge of education evaluation methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to train adults with patience and respect within culturally diverse settings
  • High-level proficiency in all MS Office Applications
  • Ability to work with survey monkey or other online survey tools
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and document work
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High standards of performance, quality, credibility and integrity

Literacy Achieves, founded as Vickery Meadow Learning Center, is dedicated to improving English literacy levels among non-English speaking adults and their young children by providing programs in communication and life skills. Literacy Achieves serves approximately 1,200 adults and 330 children annually at its three Dallas locations. Approximately 350 volunteers teach adult classes, work in the computer lab, assist in the office and support the children’s program.
